Final mark
The final mark for the course is calculated according to the course description sheet (see above), i.e. lecture and laboratory have equal weights of 50%. Should a result fall exactly in the middle of an interval, it is rounded upwards (e.g. 3.5 × 50% + 4.0 × 50% = 3.75 → 4.0).
Course credit
As provided in § 19(7) of Study Regulations, students who fail to pass this course until the end of the following examination period are required to retake both the lecture and the laboratory parts.
The lecturer or the laboratory coordinator, respectively, may decide otherwise in individual cases upon request of the student concerned, depending on his/her current situation as well as on his/her previous results. Such a request must be made in the first week of classes at the latest. Any later request will be denied.
Regarding the lecture, you should contact the lecturer, while regarding the laboratory, the laboratory coordinator who will decide after consulting your teacher. If you talk to Prof. Napieralski in person, considering that he does not enter marks himself, you should make sure his decision (if positive) reaches the laboratory coordinator in writing (eg by e-mail) directly; it is suggested that you write an e-mail to Prof. Napieralski with a carbon copy to the laboratory coordinator.
Entering marks (PiUM)
This information only concerns the course delivered in Polish as the EECCE Faculty uses an information system partially different from that used in IFE.
Entering marks (PDS)
- Final marks are entered into the University database not less than once and not more than twice a week. This is done by the laboratory coordinator who is therefore the person to be contacted in case your mark is wrong or it is missing after a week has passed from the date it could be determined (see next item) or after the deadline for entering marks as defined in the academic year schedule. Course coordinator should not be contacted on this issue; the fact that it is his name that shows up in the system does not mean that the previous sentence is false.
- Your final mark can be determined once:
- you have obtained a positive lecture mark, which you can verify on the Lecture page, which content is generated by the laboratory coordinator who is therefore the person to be contacted in case your mark is wrong or missing;
- your laboratory teacher has granted you a positive laboratory mark and has entered it into the course worksheet, which you can verify on the Teachers page (provided your teacher publishes worksheet-generated information there); he is therefore the person to be contacted in case this mark is wrong or missing.
- As entering marks to the University database requires physical presence at the University on a working day for the Department’s office, exchange students who need their Transcript of Records ready for a specific date are asked to inform the laboratory coordinator about this need at least tree days in advance.
