- In the search box in the right-hand corner, enter WaveStar and click the magnifier icon beside. Within the Refine Your Result Type list on the left, click Software, then click on WaveStar for Oscilloscopes within the displayed list of applications. On the page that opens, click Login to access this content and create your user account. After it is created, the Login to access this content button will change to Download file; click it to download the installation file.
- At the appropriate stage of the installation process you must choose the Reader mode (result reading without a possibility to connect an oscilloscope to your computer). Only when installed in this mode, the application will run without a 30-day limitation.

- Version 8.0 is used in the laboratory, but projects created with it are fully compatible with version 9.1 (choose Schematics as the editor during installation).

Software can also be provided by your teacher.
In case of problems with software or simulation models, you are asked to send a message or pay a visit with your portable computer (if you work on one) to your teacher or to the laboratory supervisor. In your message, include as many details as possible, e.g.:
- problem description,
- indication of the point of the exercise at which the problem ocurred,
- files that were processed when the problem ocurred,
- a screenshot showing the error as displayed by the application.
Access in the laboratory
- All the necessary software is accessible through the Start menu.
- Communication software for measurement equipment can be found under Measurements.
- Only the LibreOffice suite is available in the laboratory. It enables saving documents (both text and spreadsheets) also in Microsoft Office formats; all the basic file elements will open in Word and Excel without problem.
- To pack or unpack archives you can use the embedded Windows archiver or the 7Zip application. Both can be run from the context menu after right-clicking the selected files or folders.
